In Ordos city's Kangbashi district, Inner Mongolia, high-tech autonomous vehicles shuttle through the streets, forming a unique urban landscape. These once futuristic scenes have now become part of daily life in the city. As the only "dual pilot" city in Northwest China, Ordos is building an intelligent transportation system that deeply integrates "vehicle-road-cloud" technology, covering various scenarios such as public transit, logistics, and sanitation.
10 autonomous buses have already accumulated 120,000 kilometers in operation, serving 46,000 passengers. 15 unmanned delivery vehicles have completed 450,000 delivery orders, while five autonomous street sweepers have cleaned an area of 964,000 square meters.
It is reported that the second phase of the "vehicle-road-cloud integration" program officially commenced in December 2024 and is scheduled for completion on August 18 this year. The second phase will include the construction of 35 smart intersections and 49 road section points, along with the deployment of eight additional vehicles - four buses, three logistics vehicles, and one street sweeper.
